A long time ago….
Noah Christian Morse has filed a lawsuit in B.C. Supreme Court against Chad Turton, a.k.a. Chad Kroeger for punching him in the mouth.  This incident happened almost two years ago.

Kroeger will probely not been charged:
Morse claims he suffered a concussion, permanent scars and headaches among other problems, and is demanding damages from Kroeger. Vancouver Police say they investigated the incident but Kroeger hasn’t been charged, and likely won’t be. Kroeger is scheduled to get his drivers licence back this month after losing it a year ago for a conviction of driving with a blood-alcohol level over .08.

Ron Wood still hasn’t lost it :-)

April 24th, 2009

Real rockers like ‘em young:
Ron Wood 61-year-old guitar man for the Rolling Stones, and his youthful partner were spied recently in London.

Ron Wood and Ekaterina Ivanova

Ron Wood and Ekaterina Ivanova

Mother in law rocks…
Wood, who left his wife Jo after 23 years of marriage appears to have settled into a relationship with 20-year-old Ekaterina Ivanova after about nine months since the two began seeing each other. Ivanova’s grandmother had not responded very positively when she first learned about her granddaughter’s relationship with the rock icon, but it seems she has softened her position since that time, and now says that she would not be upset if the couple decided to wed. If he wants to marry Ekaterina, I would be happy for them,” says grandmother Lyudmila, who currently lives in Kazakhstan.

True love:
It’s not hard to understand a 61-year-old man’s attraction to a 20-year-old woman, but the reverse may be a bit harder to believe, and cases like this tend to bring up well-worn clichés like “gold digger” and the like. Is it realy true love between Wood and Ivanova? The answers to the questions about true love in these cases are found only in the hearts and minds of the presumed lovebirds themselves.

Thin Lizzy - Still Dangerous

April 16th, 2009

Still dangerous…
Still Dangerous is a companion live recording to Thin Lizzy’s much-revered 1978 release Live and Dangerous.

The boys are back in town…and wil never leave!
Touted as one of the best “hard rock” live albums of its day, Live and Dangerous was originally released as a dubble disc vinyl set. Today we can buy Thin Lizzy’s Still Dangerous on CD. So why would VH1 Classic want to release another recording from the same tour? Simple. Although the band clicked on American radio with songs like “the boys are back in town” and “Jailbreak,” it was not radio play that turned these songs into legendary anthems but rather tireless stretches of endless live performance.

Live performance is art and so is Lizzy:
Some bands could (and still can) not recreate their studio sound live; Thin Lizzy on the other hand excelled on stage and that quality is on full display on Still Dangerous. Lynott introduces “Dancing in the Moonlight” as “A little sax and a little sex;” the song features the sensuous saxophone work of John Earle from the Graham Parker Band.

Songs that were to dangerous:
Songs on Still Dangerous that are not included on the Live and Dangerous DVD are the set-opening “Soldier of Fortune” and “Opium Trail,” a song that rings a bit sad considering it was probably Lynott’s warning to himself about the peril of abusing hard drugs, something that would eventually play a major factor in his death. Still Dangerous ends with thirteen minutes of high-energy boogie courtesy of “Baby Drives Me Crazy” and “Me and the Boys.”

April 8th, 2009

Blink-182 is planning to take Weezer on the road as their main supporting act.

Blink 182

Blink 182 and Weezer = A perfect match:
Though the tour schedule has not been made public, the pairing of two hugely creative (and funny) bands is likely to make their tour one of the must-see events of the year.

Since the grammy award…
Of course, Blink fans have been on cloud nine since the band re-united on the Grammy Awards and announced they would not only tour but release new music
